Siaba Besar Dive Site

Yes. We love bringing new divers to Siaba Besar Komodo because the water is usually calm and shallow enough to build confidence. Gentle slopes, sandy patches, and coral bommies give us room to practice skills without the strong drift you find at some other Komodo sites. For beginner diving Komodo, it is one of our go-to choices when conditions call for relaxed, controlled dives.

We find the Siaba Besar dive site ideal for macro photography. Slow currents and accessible depths mean we can hover patiently over frogfish, seahorses, and nudibranchs. If you are taking an underwater photography course or want to refine composition and lighting, we can plan longer, unhurried profiles here.

Open Water divers are welcome. We also use Siaba Besar Komodo regularly for Discover Scuba Diving and training dives because the environment is forgiving. Our guides still brief every dive in detail and stay close to the group so everyone feels supported.

Often, yes. Green turtles rest on the reef while we scan the bommies and sand for nudibranchs, pipefish, and shrimp. We coordinate with you before the dive so we balance wide-angle turtle moments with macro hunting based on what you want from the day.

Siaba Besar is deliberately mellow. When we want adrenaline and big pelagic action, we head to current-swept pinnacles elsewhere in the park. When we want relaxed beginner diving Komodo style with cameras and critters, we prioritize Siaba Besar so you leave the water smiling, not exhausted.
