The Lighthouse

(North Komodo)

The dive site takes its name from the lighthouse that dominates from above, watching this little corner of paradise.

With the bow of our boat pointing north, more precisely the northeastern part of the small island Gili Lawa Laut, which stands just above the largest Komodo. Its particularly exposed position easily suggests that it is a drift dive (most of the time). It starts at a good distance from the cape, starting our descent above a slope reef well covered with abundant hard and soft corals. By letting yourself be carried away by the light current you will encounter different outcroppings and cracks, a perfect shelter for lobsters and crabs, until you reach the corner.

Very important to stay behind your Divemaster and sheltered enough to assist undisturbed at the spectacle of giant trevallies, napoleon wrasse, snappers, sharks and manta rays! When air supply is scarce, always keeping the proximity to the reef, you pass the corner and end up slowly going up to our Safety Stop flying over the beautiful coral garden in search of invertebrates, moray eels and nudibranches.
